The Country Fair is back

Enjoying the Country Fair at Florence Court last year

The spectacle that is Country Fair is back again for another year! Join us on Sunday 28 May for an afternoon of music, crafts, games and even a pet dog show, all in the beautiful surroundings of Florence Court. Visit the craft fair to browse a range of home-made and crafted items including jewellery, hand-made furniture, prints by local artists and even pick up a few special items for your dog.

Discover some rare breeds, take in the music from local band Below the Line, or test out your skills by having a go at archery, clay pigeon shooting and fly-fishing. Keep the kids entertained with our craft activity or out on the front lawn with games and rides from Full Swing Entertainment. They can show off their acrobatic skills on the bungee trampoline, or watch the world go by on the children’s carousel. Stop in and have their faces painted to really get into the spirit!

The whole estate will be coming to life at the hands of our skilled volunteers – watch as our blacksmith expertly works with the 1200 degree heat of the forge and check in at the carpenter’s workshop to see our capable carpenters showing off their hand carving skills. Chat to our gardener in the Walled Garden about the kitchen garden project and pick up some tips for yourself.
Take a stroll around the house to find out all about the Earls of Enniskillen. Be transported back in time as you find out about a day in the life in the 1920s from our housemaid and footman. Check out the vintage vehicles outside the house to really complete the picture.

Our Terrier and Lurcher shows will be taking place on the front lawn so bring along your dog for an afternoon of exciting racing. For a less competitive afternoon – but no less high stakes – enter your pooch in our pet dog show at 3pm. Do they have what it takes to take the prize for waggiest tail? The Stables Tea-room will be providing tasty treats and lunches as well as setting up a mouth-watering barbeque stand that will tempt your tastebuds!

The fair runs from 12-5pm, normal admission prices apply and entry is free for National Trust members. For further information please contact 028 6634 8249.
