FERMANAGH certainly got into the Halloween ‘spirit’ again this year, with locals turning out in their zombie-clad droves to enjoy the festivities around the county.

From ghost walks to pumpkin trails, to fancy dress family fun, to bonfires and boxty, the ancient festival certainly seems to be still firing the imagination of both young and old in every corner of the county.

By far the largest event took place in Enniskillen, kicking off with the ever-popular Spooktacular 5k fun run through the town last Friday night.

Then, on Halloween itself, the Enniskillen Fireworks Festival attracted thousands to the town on Monday night. Families lined the streets around the Lakeland Forum to enjoy the spectacular display against the stunning background of Enniskillen Castle.

The spooky shenanigans weren’t just confined to the county town, though, with fright-tastic happenings taking place from Kinawley to Lisnarick, Belleek to Garrison. And for once the festivities were blessed with beautiful autumnal weather!
