Fermanagh man Tom Mohan been named Republic of Ireland under 19 manager.

The Aghadrumsee native, who had been managing Ireland’s under 17s since 2012, succeeds the highly respected Paul Doolin.

The former Finn Harps midfielder is understandably delighted with the appointment and looking forward to getting his teeth into the international job.

“It is a great honour to manage your country at any level, but this is a step up for me to the under 19s and it is a challenge that I am looking forward to,” said Mohan.

“This is an exciting time for Irish football with the introduction of the SSE Airtricity League at under 19 and under 17 level, which allows us to further develop our structures and produce the best players that we can for Republic of Ireland teams.
