WHILE the UK and much of Ireland basks in summer sunshine, in Fermanagh you can expect the rain to return tomorrow.
It may be sunny at Wimbledon and a heat warning issued for parts of the UK, but in Fermanagh it is  unfortunately a case of as you were.
While you can expect hazy sunshine and warm temperatures of 25°C today, the Met Office has said it is expected to become cloudier in the far west of the county later in the day with the risk of some heavy, thundery showers.
The outlook from Thursday on to the weekend is less promising. The forecast states that it will not be as hot as earlier in the week but still warm. The bad news is Thursday will have a cloudy start with some rain, sunshine and showers later, with a similar outlook for Friday.
There is no let-up to the rain on Saturday morning with heavy showers expected in the morning before clearing or Sunday were heavy showers are predicted throughout the day, with highs of 18°C. Moving into Monday and heavy rain is expected in the early morning with scattered showers continuing into Tuesday.
The forecast spells bad news for St Michael’s parish fun day  being held on Sunday, July 5 at Mount Lourdes playing fields, Mill Street (on the old St Fanchea’s College site), Enniskillen from 2pm to 5pm. Mary Gordon, one of the organisers of the fun day hopes the weather doesn’t impact on the day, but has provisions in place should the rain come down.
“Initially we thought there was going to be rain and then we thought it was going to be a heatwave.
“We have four big marquees so hopefully we will be OK. We got the marquees to protect people from the rain, but then we heard it was a heatwave and thought it would protect from that too. So we do have that, I just hope to God it doesn’t rain.”
