WHILE former Lough Erne Resort touring professional Rory McIlroy may not be having the success he’d hoped for at the Irish Open in Royal County Down, an Enniskillen shop is certainly getting in on the festivities.

The golf tournament runs from today (May 28) until Sunday (May 31) and Lilley’s Centra in Enniskillen have commemorated the event by creating custom home-made gelato in honour of some of the golfing stars.

They’ve also created cracking caricatures of McIlroy and co.

Flavours include ‘McIlroy’s Ace’ (Sticky Toffee Surprise); ‘Clarke’s Eagle’ (Guinness and Chocolate Cake) and ‘McDowell’s Birdie’ (Irish Whiskey and Liqueur Coffee).

The shop has done similar previously with the likes of David Cameron and Barack Obama at the time of the G8 Summit in Enniskillen in 2013 and Samuel Beckett and Oscar Wilde during their respective festivals in Enniskillen.
