Ballinamallard sit second from bottom of the Premier League after this defeat at Shamrock Park.
Portadown took the lead after just eight minutes. McAllister crossed for Mackle and his header was tipped onto the crossbar by keeper Fergal Murphy, but the ball bounced and spun the goal.
As the half wore on the Ballinamallard came more into the game. A Lafferty free kick was deflected just wide and Anthony Elding failed to get enough on a Liam Martin pass. Martin then had a great chance to draw level but he headed wide from ten yards.
Just before the break the Mallards conceded a second. Murray ran through the defence and although keeper Murphy got both hands to his shot, the ball squirmed loose for Murray to side foot home.
Portadown scored their third on 62 minutes. Keeper Murphy gifted the ball to McAllister as he tried to prevent the ball going out for a corner. McAllister had the simple task of sliding the ball to Murray to slide home
