Lisa McCabe, Enniskillen girl and designer behind the Irish label Nor Lisa, who back in June opened her boutique on Ann Street in the town, is getting ready for her appearance at this season’s Belfast Fashionweek which is celebrating its tenth year this year.

Local girl Lisa will be joining other big brand names in fashion including George at ASDA, M&S, DV8 and CastleCourt and will be showcasing her unique designs on the catwalk as part of the popular designer catwalk show on Friday October 17.

Lisa will be in good company as her pieces will grace the runway alongside other top Northern

Irish designers and designer boutiques such as Grainne Maher, Larissa Watson, Katie Wilson and Lizzie Agnew.

Speaking at the recent launch, director of Fashionweek Cathy Martin outlined what we can expect from the event which will take place from 15 – 19 October across various venues in Belfast.

“Showcasing the best of our local designers and independent boutiques as well as international high street names, this autumn the catwalk will be a sea of colour, style and must-have fashion. We’re loving the blue hues, the coral reds, the plaid and the glorious glitter trends, as well as sharp suiting and oversized coats in terms of the season’s silhouettes.

“I’m really pleased to see Lisa returning to the catwalk to take part in our tenth year celebrations. Her vintage-inspired designs and stunning prints are making her a talent worth watching and giving her the name of one of Northern Ireland’s most promising up-and-coming designers.”

Speaking about her up and coming collection Lisa said:

“Last season I had a lot of blue and red in my collection, therefore for autumn/winter I got my inspiration from the woodland and fairy tale trends that are coming through at the moment.

“I usually go for quite bright colours, but I thought that the green and nude colours were much more earthy and worked better with this trend. However, blue and red might be making an appearance, but you’ll just have to wait and see.”

The full show schedule is available online at www.belfastfashionweek.com along with details of this season’s trends plus links to all participant retailers and sponsors.

The most fashionable tickets in town are priced at £20 or £25 and are available by calling 028 9024 6609 or via the website.
