THE launch of a new series of big country bands at the Westville Hotel in Enniskillen has taken place.

Following on from the success of Johnny Brady’s appearance there at the end of last month, a number of top bands have been lined up to appear there on Thursday nights over the coming weeks.

Jim Devine and his band will be the big attraction tonight, Thursday July 24 while on Thursday July 31 the popular Gerry Guthrie and his band will be on stage.

Then on Thursday August 7, exciting newcomer Lee Matthews and his band will be on stage for what promises to be an action-packed show from an outfit that is rapidly ascending the popularity ladder.

On Thursday August 14s the Westville will host a return visit by Johnny Brady and his band in response to public demand following their unprecedented performance last month.

Jim Devine has captured the hearts of many followers within a comparatively short time given his success with number such as ‘Leighann loves to dance’, ‘Saw you running’ and others.

His bright, breezy programme is calculated to ensure that he keeps the dance floor full on July 24.

Gerry Guthrie, too, has been making big inroads in the country dancing sphere and is shortly due to release a new CD which will showcase the considerable talents of both himself and his band.

Lee Matthews announced his arrival with his debut single ‘Sade’s got her new dress on’ and followed this up with ‘Country Girl’, the success of both thrusting him to the fore as a big attraction on the dancing circuit.

And of course Johnny Brady will unveil his slick, ultra-professional stage show on Thursday August 14 when he is expected to play to a capacity crowd following the tremendous reception which he received at the venue a few weeks ago.

Westville Hotel marketing executive Heather Fallis underlined the hotel’s commitment to providing only the best in dancing entertainment.

“We feel we are responding to meeting a demand for country dancing and we are determined to bring the best bands we can here,” explained Heather, “Patrons will certainly find a warm welcome and friendly ambience which should be very conducive to happy dancing.”

The hotel will also be offering meal and accommodation deals on dance nights. Admission to dance is £12.
