Mallard boys itching to get back

Tight Lipped. Ballinamallard Manager, Whitey Anderson. DP100

Whitey Anderson is eager for his players to get back to winning ways

Ballinamallard players just want to get back out against Ballymena this Saturday and put things right.

It will be a dog fight against a side against a side just a point behind them and Whitey Anderson and his boys know they need to win this one.

“Things are tight in all areas of this league this season, but Saturday is a really important one for us. Our boys are just dying to get out again on Saturday and put things right.”

Anderson is confident his players will bounce back because he knows each point is vital in this league.

He will have Richard Lecky in the squad for Saturday. He came through a good half against Glentoran and Anderson is delighted with his progress.

“There were a number of positives such as that from Saturday’s game, but we have to stop making silly mistakes. We’re paying dearly for them and this can’t go on.”

Anderson also knows that the next six games are really important to the Ferney Park side.

It’s Ballymena, Ards, Cliftonville, Linfield, Warrenpoint and Glenavon.

Those games could define Ballinamallard’s progress this season and manager Anderson will be setting targets for his players within that group of games.

“Points are a priority at the moment. But we have been very close to teams in the past two weeks. We must start picking up points again and moving forward and I have every confidence that my boys will do that.”
