REHEARSALS are in full swing for this year’s Enniskillen Light Operatic’s Christmas musical, “Anything Goes” to be staged in the Ardhowen Theatre 5th – 14th December.
And, once again, this popular local company is looking forward to presenting this much-loved Cole Porter masterpiece, (he composed the music and the lyrics).
The action takes place on a large American cruise ship sailing from America to Britain in 1934 with a wide selection of passengers, including the rich and not so rich, together with “sexy” night club singers and even two stowaways.
A spokesman for the ELO said they were delighted to have in the cast of “Anything Goes” a number of well known local actors.
They include Rebecca Cullen who plays Reno Sweeney, Neil Reid as Moonface Martin and Brenda Swift as Erma.
Local boys Ryan Moohan and John Kane, having graduated in drama, have rejoined the cast And, amongst the new faces are Rachael King playing the part of Hope Harcourt, Tracey Kernaghan, who is well-known member of the Enniskillen Amateur Dramatic Society, and John McCann, who is also well known in drama circles.
The strong chorus of all ages comprises some who are old hands on the Ardhowen stage and others making their debut. They promise to delight the audience.
Putting the cast through their paces are director, Maura Logue, musical director, Helen Hamill and choreographer, Jennifer Rooney along with Shauneen Begley, all experienced directors who have worked with ELO on previous musicals.
Established in 1995, Enniskillen Light Operatic has staged musicals annually in the ArdhowenTheatre.
The committee and cast look forward to welcoming their loyal audience from Fermanagh and further afield.
