THE winner of the local Miss British Empire heat was crowned over the weekend.

Bethany Blair will now go on to the Belfast finals to fight for the crown of Miss British Empire Northern Ireland.

The charity involved, Akita NI, awarded child star Libby Robertson the title of Little Miss Akita NI.

The event was organised by Enniskillen-born fashion designer, Lisa McCabe, who described the event as a success.

“In the past I have found their isn’t a lot to do in Enniskillen with regards to fashion and modelling so thought would be great to bring a high fashion show and Model Competition to the great town and what a great way to raise some well needed money for a well deserving charity two birds with one stone.

“My sister, Donna, who is also a designer helped run the event and has a very keen interest in creating more hype about fashion in Fermanagh.”

At the show on Saturday, Lisa described it as a ‘high fashion show’.

“We crowned the two winners of the competition but also ran a high fashion show with massive famous designers from all over NI.”

She added: “All the models were local beauties and all ones to watch.”
