Target employees thrown a lifeline
FORMER FERMANAGH based employees of the now defunct Target Express have been boosted by news that 15 of their jobs have been secured by new company Master Logistics.
Speaking to the Herald, Malachy McBrien, manager of the Lisnaskea depot of Target explained the current situation in Fermanagh.
“There has in the last few days been some development with Masterlink, who have taken over a number of contracts in Lisnaskea. These are short term contracts until we see what customers stay on board. They have agreed with the existing contracts, but these will be up for review. The contracts are now in place and have maybe secured 15 jobs at this location.”
“I’m obviously very happy for the employees. It has given them some relief for the moment in a very difficult time. The duration depends on how many customers remain with us.”
When asked about the debt owed to revenue commssioners Malachy repeated a previous stance and said: “That issue is within the hands of receivers and liquidators.”
