Yellow Car No Return set for Sunflowerfest
THIS WEEKEND will see Fermanagh band Yellow Car No Return descend upon County Down, when they perform at this year’s Sunflowerfest in Hillsborough.
As one of over 50 acts, the trio will perform on Friday August 17 on the Barn Stage and will be joined by Indigo Fury (fronted by Newtownbutler’s Rory Lavelle) who play on the same stage on the Sunday night.
The band – consisting of Eoin Parkinson, Luke Burns and Paul Gallagher – say they are ‘looking forward’ to the gig.
Bassist Luke said: “It is one of Northern Ireland’s biggest unsigned festivals and it’s great to be a part of it and to be playing with lots of great bands.”
In preparation for the event, the band have recorded a single, ‘Rain’, which should be available later in the week through searching ‘Yellow Car No Return’ on Facebook.
Now in its third year, Sunflowerfest was recently shortlisted for the ‘Best Northern Irish Festival Award’ at the Northern Ireland Music Awards 2011 and is aiming to build upon an attendance of around 3,000 at last year’s festival.
