Murder accused in court

By Gareth McKeown
A 33 year- old man has been remanded in custody after being charged with murdering his brother.
Raymond Johnston, of Coleshill park, Enniskillen appeared in Fermanagh Magistrates court on Monday morning. He is charged with the murder of his younger brother David, Andrew Johnston on July 13.
The accused spoke only to confirm that he understood the charge.
A detective constable said that he believed he could connect Johnston with the charge.
District Judge Liam McNally asked the officer to outline the details of the case
The constable explained that police were called to the address in the Killesher area of Florencecourt on Friday , where a stabbing had taken place.  After inquiries Raymond Johnston was subsequently arrested and later charged.
Alison Brimstone, defending said there would be no application made for bail.
District Judge Liam McNally remanded the accused into custody to appear at Fermanagh Magistrates Court by video link on August 13.
It is believed that that Mr Johnston was killed at a location close to the Catholic church at Killesher  on the Kinawley road, on the outskirts of Florencecourt.
A house in close proximity to the church was sealed off, while investigations were also focused on a nearby lane.
