Mulrone 'devastated' after three goals sink Erne
Fermanagh wing half back, Barry Mulrone, was still shell shocked 24 hours after Fermanagh had bowed out of the All Ireland race following a seven point defeat to neighbours Cavan.
The powerful wing half back had just completed a series of trademark runs deep into the Cavan defence to help set up scores when Cavan struck for their first goal. Minutes later the Fermanagh net rattled for the third time and the game was over as a contest.
“Just devastated. It is the only way that you can describe it. Just absolutely devastated.”
The Devenish man explained that he ‘could not get his head around what happened.’
“Things had be going so well and we had built up a good lead and then it was gone, I just don’t know what was the reason for it.”
Mulrone conceded that Cavan always had a fair share of possession throughout the course of the game but felt that Fermanagh had contained them well;
