Kenny is new Rotary President
ELECTED AS PRESIDENT of the Enniskillen Rotary Club this week was Ballinamallard born Kenny Fisher.
Announced at a lunch on Monday, Kenny – who was president-elect last year – has a long history with the Rotary Club and has been involved in many facets of the club’s being over the last decade.
Having formerly worked in the Health Service and in the South-West College, Kenny takes over from Colin Beattie as president for 2012/13 and is the club’s 59th president since its conception in 1955.
Now retired, he joined the Rotary Club 10 years ago and worked as the chairman of youth activities for a three year period and as club secretary for the same time frame. He has been a member of the club council for all 10 years of his membership – and was president elect last year.
Of the next twelve months, Kenny says: “I hope that the club will continue to flourish and maybe even increase its membership. I’ll be involved in the day-to-day running of the club and through various fund-raising events throughout the year”.
