We want a run – Canavan
Fermanagh manager, Peter Canavan, was clear that there is still plenty to play for this season as Fermanagh enter the All Ireland series.
“We want to develop the team and the players and I always think that the best way to learn as a player is in the Championship so we want to play in and win as many championship games as possible and that starts with Cavan, we would like a run in the qualifiers,” Canavan explained.
The Tyrone native was delighted that the draw gave Fermanagh a home draw and he is beginning to understand just what a local derby with Cavan means to people by the banks of the Erne.
“To be honest before I came here I didn’t know how intense the rivalry was with Cavan. It will be like a typical Ulster Championship game. It’s good to get a home draw too and there should be a good crowd and the players are looking forward to getting out there.”
