Sean’s sunken digger rises after 20 years in the bog!

IT took all of 38 hours of hard graft last weekend by men and machine to exhume the 30-tonne Atlas digger which lay all but buried on Sean Donohoe’s farm along the Erne-Shannon waterway at Teemore.
And, it is estimated that up to 7,000 people, many of whom returned the next day after watching Saturday’s ‘lift’ attempt, saw the event with their own eyes.
Speaking to the Herald yesterday (Tuesday) morning, an exhausted Mr Donohoe reported that people were waiting from 7pm on Saturday morning for the lift to begin, and he revealed that the man selling burgers had to travel twice into Enniskillen for extra supplies and that 10 more portable loos had to be hired at the last minute to cope with demand.
However, a plan he has been plotting since last December had worked a treat and, not only was the crane on terra firma, there is now every likelihood it could be got working again!
