Now it's Mrs Kerr MBE
AMONG those with local links honoured in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List published at the week-end is local primary school principal, Adele Kerr.
Mrs Kerr, the principal of Enniskillen Integrated Primary School, received an MBE for services to education
When Adele Kerr came into work on Monday morning, she found her school decorated with good wishes banners and, for their part, the children, all 244 of them, sang to her.
“It was all very exciting, but I am overwhelmed and very humbled. I just sort of feel there are so many principals who work very hard and go the extra mile. I am just delighted that somebody nominated me and I got it.”
In all, there are 31 staff employed at the school, Lisburn-born, Adele’s second posting since coming to Fermanagh when she got married to Andrew (Kerr).
In 1993 she was appointed principal of Belleek PS and in 1999 she was appointed head of Enniskillen Integrated PS.
