Mummers making a show!

Fermanagh’s well travelled  Mummers recently took a long hard look at themselves and, as a result,   have decided that the best option was to put themselves on permanent exhibition in the format of mumming replica dolls. With unding from the Arts Council’s Lottery Fund the 25 set of mumming dolls  are being  sculptured to exact detail  by puppeteer, Annie Callaghan from Roslea.

According to Jim Ledwith of the Mummers Foundation the mumming dolls are excellent visual aids when delivering outreach lectures on mumming and are unique in themselves in terms of reflecting in detail the unusual attire and accoutrements that people associate with mummers from Fermanagh.
