140 workers on the move

SOME 140 employees of the Western Health and Social Services Trust who are currently based in Enniskillen, 40 of them in Belmore House in Darling Street, will be re-located this summer to the new acute hospital site.

The remainder are based in Coleshill on the Sligo Road.

The re-location will have a severe impact on local businesses, particularly those at the west end of Enniskillen, including Darling Street itself, which already has a number of vacant properties. Among them is the former Hall’s bookshop and newsagency, once a thriving hub of the street. It is a substantial premises, covering 4,000 square foot over two floors.

This week, a spokesman for the selling agent, Ardmore Commercial, based in Belfast, told the Herald: “We have an interested party.”
